God Has Positioned You To Thrive. Be Encouraged.

This photo of me and my son, Joshua, our third child born in December, reminds me of God’s goodness.

2021 has been a year where adversity has been knocking at doors, calling on people to a challenge that one can only win with faith, perseverance, and prayer (as my wife will say at times to me).

This knock began in the middle of my wife’s pregnancy as I tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, she tested negative even though I had spent time around her.

On the other hand, she was sick for most of her pregnancy. Many times she could barely talk or walk.

Have you ever been challenged by a situation you cannot escape and begin to ask, “Where is God?”

Maybe you are experiencing it now. I encourage you to trust God and not give up.

I did not know how I would make it this year but one day at a time I believed God will see me through.

Not only did I need the physical and mental stamina to care for my wife and two- and three-year-old kids (and learn how to cook their food), but I also had to take care of myself—along with keeping up with the demands of my work in Information Technology (IT) leadership for a global non-profit organization.

The mountain seemed impossible to climb. I clung to faith, resilience, and perseverance. I prayed to God to keep me alive and to give me strength.

So, as I held on to Joshua, who we also call Shukran (“Thank you” in Swahili) you can imagine my gratitude to God for seeing us through the storm by faith.

I do not know what your situation is but I believe God has positioned you to thrive. Be encouraged and believe in His plan for your life.

He will not abandon you midway through your journey. You can overcome any challenge by faith, perseverance, hard work, and determination because there is greatness in you.

As Christian D. Larson put it: “Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle. ”

I pray that you have a wonderful holiday season ahead, rise above any challenges, and may 2022 be your best year ever.
