Innovate Baltimore and the Baltimore Love Project will on Saturday, May 22, from 7pm to 11pm, host the first annual silent art auction party — Innovate Love. The fundraising event will feature leading artists from the Greater Baltimore area and beyond.
The “Innovate Love” theme celebrates the efforts of both groups to unite Baltimore residents in creative ways. Over 40 artists have created an original piece that revolves around the theme, including Baltimore’s own Whitney Sherman, whose title piece will be available for raffle at the event. All attendees will receive a limited edition print of her piece as a gift from Archival Arts.
“Partnering with the Baltimore Love Project for this event has been a great experience. Not only is it a worthy cause, but they are a terrific group of people,” said Ben Walsh, Co-founder of Innovate Baltimore.
“This is going to be a talked about event. The penthouse has the most gorgeous views, the art is amazing, and the food being prepared by Chef “Mookie” Hicks is delicious. If you like art, parties, or supporting groups that strive to improve Baltimore, then this is a must attend event.”
Michael Owen, the Innovate Love curator and founder of the Baltimore Love Project, said: “40+ artists have submitted works of art based on the abstract theme of “Innovate Love”, and the results are both awe inspiring and as varied as the artist’s home cities.
“Pulling from all over the country, as well as an international submission, you can see various region’s influence on the work. The event on the 22nd will be the first and only time that all of these pieces can be seen together.”
Innovate Love will take place in the penthouse at Silo Point Luxury Condominiums, located at 1200 Steuart Street. Guests will enjoy live music by DJ Terry Thompson while browsing the art on display, watching Super Art Fight create live murals, and experiencing the breath-taking views of the city skyline and harbor from the penthouse windows.
Tickets are $25 and include a special menu of savory hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Frederick “Mookie” Hicks, mini cupcakes from Cake by Carolyn, and a cash bar. Cocktail Attire Suggested.
